Alloy - Outer ring: Cu-Ni, The inner part is three-layer: Cu75 Zn20 Ni5; Ni; Cu75 Zn20 Ni5.
Diameter - 25.75 mm.
Thickness - 2.20 mm.
Weight - 8.50 g.
Edge - corrugated with lettering. The inscription is the same as on the 2 euro circulation coins of the corresponding country - see general description of euro coins.

Common side - 2 EURO / Map of Europe crossed by six lines connecting two groups of stars (12 in total, according to the original number of EU countries).
National side - A stylized human figure whose arm is extended by the euro symbol, 12 stars in the outer circle.

Theme - 10th anniversary of the European Economic and Monetary Union. The creation of EMU is the final stage of the integration process in Europe.
In 1999, the first euro coins were minted.
